Il Divino Cipriano

Forthcoming

We were fortunate to perform several of Cipriano de Rore’s most-loved madrigals as part of The Alchemist, and are now turning to record his complete Latin motets. We are undertaking project in collaboration with Prof. Jessie Ann Owens, the leading authority on de Rore’s music, with the aim to bring a new perspective to this remarkable body of polyphony.

The recordings will encompass two complete publications devoted to de Rore’s Latin-texted music: the Motetta quinque vocum published by Antonio Gardano in 1545, and the manuscript of twenty-six motets presented to Duke Albrecht V of Bavaria in 1559.
